The five things that matter in every conversion

  1. Use the original file. Screenshots and re-shared copies have already lost detail.
  2. Convert once. Repeated save cycles add compression artifacts.
  3. Keep the resolution. Shrinking the image is a bigger loss than the compression itself.
  4. Keep the colour profile. Dropped profiles are the usual cause of washed-out JPGs.
  5. Keep the HEIC. It is your master copy and the only way to export again later.

About HEIC Glide

HEIC Glide is a free browser-based converter for HEIC and HEIF photos. Files are processed on your device rather than uploaded for conversion, there is no signup, and it works on Windows, macOS, iPhone, iPad and Android browsers. The guides on this site are written to be accurate about what each method actually does — including where it loses quality, metadata or the Live Photo.
