Convert HEIC to JPG without noticeable quality loss

Use the original photo, choose high-quality output, and avoid repeated JPEG recompression.

Honest answer: HEIC-to-JPG conversion is not mathematically lossless because JPEG uses lossy compression. The goal is to minimize visible quality loss.

Start with the original HEIC file

Use the file directly from your phone or photo library, not a screenshot or a JPG that has already been shared through a messaging app. Every extra export can remove detail.

Use a high JPEG quality setting

HEIC Glide uses a high-quality JPEG output suitable for everyday photos. Higher JPEG quality normally preserves more detail, but it also creates a larger file.

Avoid repeated conversions

Convert once from the original HEIC file, then share copies of that JPG. Opening and resaving the JPG repeatedly can add compression artifacts over time.

Resolution is the number of pixels in the image. Compression controls how those pixels are stored. A JPG can keep the same pixel dimensions while still losing a small amount of fine detail through compression.
